“What’s going on behind those eyes
The thoughts that stay put
The memories that stay closer
Some things are just so precious
So fragile is to not speak out loud”
Rosie Parsonson

Artist Statement

You don’t have to scratch far to realize, that underneath it all humans are wild, domestic, purebred, mongrel, farmed and the beloved pet.

The collection of portraits presented in Eye Candy are multi layered … Shared human and animal qualities like skin, fur and nipples, combined with an intimate view invite a taste. The tattoos tell tales but it’s their larger than life eyes that betray their stories.

Collaboration is a very important part of my creative process and I believe it makes me a stronger artist. In this show, Eye Candy, I have chosen to collaborate with two of the most important people in my life: my mum Peggy, and my partner Rich.
